Green dragon kung fu Kwoon
Welcome to our kwoon. A kwoon is a training area for Chinese Martial Arts. To help you feel comfortable we have outlined the following rules and etiquette. Etiquette
Show of Respect
The bow is a sign of respect. At our kwoon we use two types of bows.
Formal Bow
The formal bow used at our kwoon is a bow used typically in Hung Gar Kung Fu which incorporates movements of the tiger and the crane. This bow is used at the formal beginning and end of the class. This bow will be directed toward the Altar at the front of the class. Please be aware that neither the school nor the Altar has any religious affiliations. The Altar represents past masters who have dedicated their lives to training and passing on the knowledge we are privileged to have today. Be careful not to bump the Altar.
Simple Bow

Bend forward at the waist. This bow will be used upon entering or leaving the kwoon. It will also be used when bowing to fellow students and instructors. Bend deeper for Sifu (Grand Master Mark Chan Wah). Master Chan may visit any class at any time. When he arrives we will momentarily cease what we are doing and show him respect with a bow.
Club Policy
1. Please remove your shoes and bow before entering the kwoon.
2. Also bow when leaving the kwoon.
3. Please make every effort to be on time. In the event that you find yourself coming in late you are still welcome to join the class. Just bow in and take a spot near the rear of the class so as to cause the least disturbance.
