Inherently a “fighting art,” Kung Fu focuses on infusing a myriad of health benefits into a one-of-a-kind class now offered in Vernon. Everyone walks away with a positive experience. Don’t be intimidated by the fact it is a fighting art. Confronting and overcoming fear is an important part of learning about yourself and very helpful as you move through life. Just showing up for the first class will be one of your first victories. When you show up for the second class, you start learning another lesson called discipline – moving towards accomplishing something by following through. You become better mentally and physically and will achieve any of life’s goals that you set your mind to.” I have been practicing the art for over 35 years now. My interest in Kung Fu stemmed from growing up in a “rough neighborhood” but now it’s all the different styles of the martial art that keeps me motivated. I’m drawn more to this type of exercise where you learn something with a practical application while you are doing it, With Kung Fu, there’s the health benefits of the physical activity, the confidence you gain with acquiring a new skill, the discipline you learn, which helps you in all aspects of life, and of course we can't forget that you do also acquire self defense skills.
